Magic Valley lawmakers weigh in on Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter’s idea to allow state to advance state dollars this year to offset holdbacks. The catch is that the funding would be lost from their state appropriation in the next fiscal year. Keith Allred, a Democratic gubernatorial candidate, visited the Wood River Valley on Tuesday,  criticizing Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter’s plans for budget cuts and saying Otter’s beholden to special interests. Allred has roots in Twin Falls and is best known in the Capitol for his work with The Common Interest,  a nonpartisan organization. The story is here.
